SBI Mutual Fund launches Nifty200 Value 30 and Nifty Smallcap 250 based ETFs

As of March 2026, SBI Mutual Fund leads India's equity mutual fund space with Rs. 9.12 lakh crore in equity assets under management (AUM), representing 75% of its total AUM. ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund follows in second place with Rs. 7.03 lakh crore in equity AUM, while HDFC Mutual Fund is third with Rs. 6.19 lakh crore in equity AUM. Collectively, equity funds constitute 68% of the mutual fund industry's total assets, amounting to Rs. 53.96 lakh crore out of an overall Rs. 79.42 lakh crore AUM.

SIF gains traction as AUM doubles, smaller cities drive growth in new SEBI category
Specialised Investment Funds (SIF), recently introduced by SEBI, are experiencing rapid growth, with assets under management (AUM) more than doubling to ₹10,620 crore as of March, up from ₹4,892 crore in December. A significant driver of this growth is participation from smaller cities, which account for 50% of investors, compared to 20% in the broader mutual fund business. The number of SIF offerings has also doubled to 14 in the same quarter. SBI Mutual Fund's Magnum SIF currently leads in AUM, followed by Edelweiss MF's Altiva SIF and ICICI MF's iSIF.
